New Webinar Series on Countering Multilingual Disinformation

14 May 2026

MULTIDISIN is an interdisciplinary project funded by Research Ireland’s New Foundations programme and supported by DCU FuJo Institute and ADAPT Centre. It aims to mitigate the harmful societal impacts of the digital transition by understanding and countering dis/misinformation from a comparative perspective, with a particular focus on medium-sized and minority languages.

Bringing together linguists, computer scientists, journalists and other stakeholders, the project creates a space for dialogue and collaboration. Its goal is to build a strong international network and develop inclusive, multilingual strategies and tools for detecting, analysing and countering dis/misinformation across diverse linguistic and cultural contexts.

The project is led by Iker Erdocia (School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies, Dublin City University) & Brendan Spillane (School of Information and Communication Studies, University College Dublin). It has two upcoming events: a webinar series and an in-person workshop
