FuJo's research on citizens' assemblies featured at the Galway International Arts Festival

17 July 2026

We were delighted to see Assembly, Ireland's pavilion from the 2025 International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale, arrive at this year's Galway International Arts Festival.

This immersive installation invites visitors to gather, listen and reflect on the spaces and practices that make democratic dialogue possible. Inspired by Ireland's Citizens' Assembly, Assembly offers a sensory experience that encourages collective reflection on matters of shared concern.

At FuJo, we were pleased to contribute through our research on citizens' assemblies. Our Director, Professor Jane Suiter, is one of the voices featured in the installation, sharing the story of Ireland's experience with this democratic innovation.

If you're in Galway, you can experience Assembly at the O’Donoghue Theatre in the University of Galway until 26 July. Admission is free.
