DCU FuJo is looking for young adults (18–30) to join our Media Literacy Incubator on July 29th on our DCU St Pat’s Campus. This all-day event will include:
- Training on disinformation, media influence, and counter disinformation policy and practice
- An introduction to media literacy and media literacy interventions
- A workshop to develop ideas for media literacy campaigns and projects
Participation is free of charge. Catering will be provided. Information on travel reimbursement, if applicable, will be shared with selected participants.
About the project
Dublin City University is the Irish partner in ChangingTIDE, an EU-funded project that aims to address the democratic threat of disinformation. Focusing on young adults (18-30), the project will develop Media Literacy Incubators and Town Hall events in five EU Member States.
Two participants from each Media Literacy Incubator will be selected to participate in the Changemakers Programme in Brussels. They will undergo a structured mentorship programme resulting in the creation of awareness-raising campaigns to address disinformation.
Who should apply?
We are looking for 25-30 particupants that will reflect the following characteristics:
- Age: 18–30-year-olds
- Residency: Participants from a range of EU member states (or countries for the CERV programme)
- Sector: Participants with experience in a diverse range of professional and voluntary sectors (e.g., sport, education, culture, business, community work)
- Interest: a clear interest in working on campaigns or activities to boost media literacy or counter disinformation. Participants are expected to actively contribute to the discussions and to develop workshop ideas.
