Webinar on ‘Making Sense of Science in Media: Communication and Health’.

FuJo is supporting Media Literacy Ireland on the upcoming webinar ‘Making Sense of Science in Media: Communication and Health’.

In the context of Covid-19, the webinar will explore the challenges and risks around communicating scientific data in a health crisis and the role of media literacy in helping to create a more receptive environment for complex messages.

The webinar will features presentations by: Helen Dolk, a Professor of Epidemiology and Health Services Research at the University of Ulster; Barbara Gormley, a PhD researcher on crisis communication during pandemics at Dublin City University; and Christine Bohan, the Deputy Editor of The Journal.ie and head of FactCheck, which has played a leading role in countering false information about Covid-19.

The discussion will be moderated by the Moderator, Dr Juliana Adelman (DCU)

The webinar will take place via Zoom on on Friday, 2nd October at 11am. The event is open to members of Media Literacy Ireland. If you would like to attend, please medialiteracy@bai.ie.
