Background & Role

The DCU Institute of Future Media, Democracy and Society (FuJo) is a multidisciplinary research centre focused on the digital transformation of media, democracy, and society. FuJo investigates how to counter digital threats; enhance public participation through democratic innovations; and secure the sustainability of high-quality journalism and media.

FuJo is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on an IRC-Laurate project called COMDEL with a team of other researchers. The researcher will work on the work package on climate action and deliberation and countering misperceptions. Experimental survey and statistical skills are vital. You will join a team of other postdoc and PhDs working on text based methods and qualitative research. Your focus will be working with survey and experimental survey data to understand the communicative and deliberative possibilities in addressing climate change. There are travel and training budgets attached to the role.

Essential Training

The postholder will be required to undertake the following essential compliance training: Orientation, Health & Safety, Data Protection (GDPR) and all Cyber Security Awareness Training.** Other training may need to be undertaken when required.

Salary Scale:

IUA Postdoctoral Researcher Salary Scale - €44,847 - €57,332

Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in line with current Government pay policy
