Professor Pat Brereton is launching his new book on environmental communication at the conclusion of the inaugural conference of the DCU Centre for Climate and Society.
Published by Routledge, Essential Concepts of Environmental Communication: an A-Z Guide will help students and scholars understand the key concepts within the expanding field of environmental communication. Each entry maps out an important concept or environmental idea and illustrates how it relates more broadly across the growing field of environmental communication debates. In so doing, it provides an up-to-date exploration of environmental and sustainable development models at a local and global level.
The book will be an invaluable reference for those working in environmental communication and policy-making and for students and researchers of environmental studies and communications studies.
The newly established DCU Climate and Society Research Centre is Ireland’s first academic research centre devoted to leading societal responses to climate change. The Centre builds upon DCU’s academic strengths in governance and law, communications and media, business and education in order to provide a humanities and social science perspective to the challenge of climate change.
