FuJo Launches “Be Election Smart” Campaign Ahead of General Election

12 November 2024

The European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) Ireland Hub has partnered with Media Literacy Ireland (MLI) to launch the “Be Election Smart” campaign. As Ireland approaches the General Election on November 29, this initiative aims to provide voters with 6 essential tips (in English and translated into Gaelic) to critically navigate election-related news, commentary, and advertising. EDMO Ireland is a DCU Institute for Future Media, Democracy and Society (FuJo) project led by Deputy Director Dr. Eileen Culloty.

The Be Election Smart campaign will continue to share media literacy tips leading up to election day, so keep an eye on EDMO's website for the full list! You can also check out EDMO and FuJo's social media to catch them all. Also check out EDMO Ireland or Media Literacy Ireland for more resources about navigating online misinformation.
