In the context of the project "PEREDEP" (Promoting E-Rulemaking in the EU through deliberative procedures) we have developed with ADAPT research centre an e-rulemaking deliberative platform which aims to enhance deliberation among European citizens in public consultations on draft legislation and policy proposals of the EU.
We are looking for participants to test this platform at a pilot study and deliberate for 5 days (we plan it from 22-26 June 2020) on draft legislation by logging in the platform. Participants will be able to log in any time (asynchronous mode) and upload their comments/discuss on the topic. Participation won’t be time consuming. The topic of deliberation will be on the European Climate Law. The platform follows a commenting and interactive procedure which allows discussions and enables (we hope) a deliberative procedure for exchange of views.
We will need at least 2 researchers from each EU member state (M/F or other) junior or senior. We aim to have a balanced number of participants regarding member states and gender so we might not be able to accommodate all interested participants.
In order to participate please express your interest by sending an email to anastasia.deligkiaouri@dcu.ie by June 16th 2020. Please indicate at the topic of the email 'E-rulemaking workshop".
The Pilot study has received approval from the Research Ethics Committee of DCU (DCUREC/2020/067). Further details on the procedure will be provided to participants.
The pilot study is in the context of the Research project "Promoting E-Rulemaking in the EU through Deliberative Procedures" (PEREDEP) which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 798502http://fujomedia.eu/promoting-e-rulemaking-eu-deliberative-procedures/
