Call for Papers: 2nd FuJo PhD Conference 2025 - Media, Democracy, and Society

Following the success of our inaugural event, we’re excited to announce the 2nd FuJo PhD Conference 2025, taking place on 5th September 2025 at DCU’s Glasnevin Campus. Hosted by the DCU Institute for Future Media, Democracy and Society (FuJo), this year’s conference will once again bring together PhD researchers from across the country to explore the dynamic intersections of media, democracy, and society in our digital age, present their work, connect with peers, and contribute to interdisciplinary conversations across a broad range of themes.

Muhammad Sayyam Afzal

Muhammad Sayyam Afzal is a PhD research scientist at the School of Communications, Dublin City University (DCU). He is a freelance journalist focusing on climate change and political communication. He has worked on many social and digital media campaigns over the past six years. Recently, he was selected as Ireland’s Climate Ambassador for 2023. In 2022, he was also chosen among 100 emerging journalists through the British Council’s future News worldwide program....
